England Euro 2012 Squad

Just read the England squad for the Euro's. Looks like another tournament where reaching the semi's would be seen as a huge success, based on he names on the list. Hope I'm wrong, obviously. Where is the talent?

  • Andy Carroll, who managed to grab a few goals at the end of the season for Liverpool, gets a spot!? Emile Heskey MkII?
  • Robert Green, backup keeper - I seem to remember his last outing in goal!!!
  • John Terry, the (alleged racist, philanderer and drug baron) gets a shirt a month out from his trial - even if he warranted a place, too much baggage?
  • Barry, Milner, Lampard, & Parker - can't imagine the Spanish midfield would be sweating too much.
  • Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - who?
  • Four strikers, of which one (arguably the only player in the squad, with possibly 'Stevie G', who could be thrown into the 'world class' bracket) is missing for the first two games, by which time England might already be knocked out.

Someone please remind me of this post when England are European Champions 2012, Carroll gets a hatrick in the semi's against France and Green becomes the hero in the penalty shoot-out victory over Germany in the final.

And in latest news, anyone who's ever visited Liverpool squad can add their names to the emergency list. Martin Kelly - who?
